Project for Improving Performance of Local Services (PIPLS)

Aim: To improve access to critical public services through better governance and greater investment in local infrastructure.

How: The project works with capacity development of 15 local and 2 cantonal governments in this regard. The governments are pre-selected based on a set of criteria, including their willingness to undertake structural reforms, the presence of a guiding integrated strategy document, and a proven track record in implementing development cooperation projects.

Why: In the long-term, the project will contribute to better services at the local level and strengthening the capacities at the local level in general, which is an important step towards EU membership.
